"OpenProj is an open source project intended as a complete desktop replacement for Microsoft Project"
OpenProject is stand alone application for project management. You can get free copy here: http://openproj.org/
System has team oriented service available as SaaS solution. You pay small monthly fee and are able to share projects with other team members. In this case all you projects will be stored on Serina's servers.

OpenProj for Workgroups is OpenProj client extension with new server side. This will allow you to get your own server instance and option to share documents with your team members. Both client and server are open source and free.

Target audience is small and med size teams.

Current version
Current version is 1.1.

About Project
This project is free and open source. I have developed it for my own needs (it is very hard to synchronize files on all my computers) and now it is almost ready for public use. I tried to  "keep it simple". It supports cheep shared hostings for server side and is light coupled with original code.
I plan to support it and (maybe) develop next versions if this will be usable. So I am highly interested in your reviews - from client perspective, admin perspective. and any general thoughts are welcomed.

Project Anatomy

Project Vision document is available in PDF

here.

OPS contains standard OpenProj code taken from SF.net with a set of libraries added. I have added log4j, Http client and own logic. Data model is XSD based with JAXB processing (jaxb 1 is already included in OpenProj).

Client talks with server using XML over HTTP.
